The public is invited to join military veterans and their families to hike the Blue-Blazed Metacomet Trail to historic Heublein Tower and museum in Simsbury for a breathtaking 360° view of Connecticut. Military veterans and their families are encouraged to join their comrades in this first of its kind event on Connecticut Trails Day.* Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion will be on hand to welcome those who choose to begin the hike from the Talcott Mountain State Park entrance. join the hike from the Yellow Trail on Summit Ridge Drive.

In addition, veteran program awareness representatives will be available to answer questions and welcome those who wish to hike. The public is welcome to join in to learn more about how veterans service groups make a difference in the lives of our military veterans and their families. The tower and museum is open from 10:00am to 5:00pm daily in the summer months.
